Lapės keramika

I’m Dovilė and I’ve never been the girl who dreamed of becoming a potter.

Pottery knocked into my life quite unexpectedly. While having tea (or maybe coffee) with a friend, she told me about a pottery club she was attending. I was surprised because I had never even heard of pottery courses for adults.

At the time I had a monotonous and not very fun job, so I decided that after work I also want to try and mould a pitcher, for example. I didn’t even notice how the pottery club had become a big part of my life. A year later, I started working for my ceramics teacher, I graduated in ceramics studies, and since December 2019, I have been enjoying my own studio “Lapės keramika” (Fox pottery).

Pottery is my meditation, concentration, creativity, freedom, communication and self-discovery. I enjoy every day spent moulding or glazing. But the best moment by far is the opening the kiln. It is the moment when you see how bright colours shine and what end result my imagination had created.

Esu Dovilė ir niekada nebuvau ta mergina, kuri nuo mokyklos suolo svajojo tapti keramike.

Keramika į mano gyvenimą pasibeldė visai netikėtai. Gerdama arbatą (o gal kavą), draugė papasakojo, kad lanko keramikos būrelį. Nustebau, nes net nebuvau girdėjusi apie suaugusiems skirtus keramikos kursus.

Tuomet dirbau monotonišką ir nelabai mėgiamą darbą, tai nusprendžiau, kad ir aš noriu po darbų išmėginti ir nulipdyti, pavyzdžiui, ąsotį. Net nepastebėjau, kaip keramikos būrelis tapo mano didžiąja gyvenimo dalimi. Po metų pradėjau dirbti pas savo keramikos mokytoją, baigiau keramikos mokslus ir nuo 2019 metų gruodžio, turiu jau savo „Lapės keramika“ studiją.

Keramika – mano meditacija, susikaupimas, kūryba, laisvė, bendravimas ir savęs pažinimas. Mėgaujuosi kiekviena diena praleista prie lipdymo ar glazūravimo. Tačiau geriausias momentas – krosnies atidarymas. Tuomet pamatai, kaip ryškios spalvos spindi ir kokius galutinius rezultatus sukuria mano vaizduotė.
